An Awakening
At dawn,
I woke and walked into our living room –
(The room,
asleep in early shadows of walls and furnishings.)
Then,
through the blinds of the kitchen window,
shortening shadows,
– LIGHT –
Breaking upon the island table,
where freshly cut tulips
and Pink Lady apples
were in conversation.
And seeing me,
invited me to sit with morning tea.
