This was a surprise birthday in two ways... one, while we were at a COMIBAM event in Spain, Annette secretly organized a little get-together in a tapas bar; and two, I was stunned to discover I was turning 42!

A few of the friends who showed up to surprised me are (from left to right): Annette, Ric Escobar (our boss), Richard Brown (youth ministry trainer and friend from Ecuador), Bruce Sider (colleague from Spain, in back), Ted Limpic (a colleague and one of the founders of Youth Specialities), Lee (a great guy from Chattanooga who we met in Spain), Linda and Mike (a fun couple from Mars Hill in Grand Rapids, MI).
