Rob Kever says:
Hey Tim, what are you all up to lately. Any new projects?

Tim & Annette Gulick says:
We are doing well... also been a bit crazy here with work (online course development for youth leaders)

oh.. projects.... um...we are finishing up class 15 of 21 of the "Foundations of Biblical Youth Ministry" (in Spanish)

we're also revising, re-editing, and adding to the nearly 500 page textbook that accompanies the "classes"

Rob Kever says:
wow! - busy

Tim & Annette Gulick says:
we've been working on these interactive, animated classes since November of 2002. The process is kind of arduous... we have 6 people in 3 countries adapting the textbook text for the "classes", creating animations and illustrations for each "page" of the "page" classes done in Flash, then it needs to be checked and rechecked for errors, then we send it to Argentina where a guy programs it so that it can be used...

Tim & Annette Gulick says:
so that it can be used:

1) via a CD to go along with the textbook ( we hope this will be used in seminaries and bible schools across Latin American);

 2) via the Internet with a tutor for college/seminary credit (we have a tutor and have raised seed-money to get this program started)

3) it is also being programmed to be used via computer (either online or downloaded) but in such a way that there is no interaction with a tutor... in this scenario, they do not pay anything but nor do they get any school credit

Tim & Annette Gulick says:
we have extremely talented illustrators/animators that have been honing their skills with us since late '98

Tim & Annette Gulick says:
Oh yea, there’s another project we are also working with Campus Crusade Europe (mostly Spain) to create an animated short based on the "Prodigal Son" It is -- of course -- updated and urbanized, but of all the proposals they received, they liked our the best and so we are moving ahead together to produced two version of this short (on film and one flash)

Tim & Annette Gulick says:
so.... now   you know what we've been up to

(oh and Annette and I are also on our way to a meeting in Quito, Ecuador for people who train youth leaders in Latin America. We leave this Sunday and get back the next Sunday. We can’t wait; some of our favorite people in the world are going to be there.)

Rob Kever says:
sounds like you guys are very busy.
can you send me some links of your work?

Tim & Annette Gulick says:
we've got a 2.5 year old example translated into English at our personal/supporter website: www.sepal.org/gulick click on the link that says "An Example" on the lower right-hand side

Tim & Annette Gulick says:
our latest online, interactive classes are programmed more powerfully and are more interactive, more fun, less long, and have more quizzes that give immediate feedback to the "student" (we have a free consultant who is a Christian who has his Ph.D. in online training and is the lead online course person for all of Bank of America)

Rob Kever says:
that's a nice resource to have.
I’ve got a meeting now, but it was great talking to you
:-)
